Position Summary
The Association of National Advertisers (ANA), the premier trade association representing client-side marketers, is seeking a dynamic and strategic Senior Vice President, Deputy Chief Information Officer (Deputy CIO) to join our innovative technology team. Reporting directly to the CIO, this pivotal role will take on high-impact responsibilities to shape and execute ANA’s technology vision. Our small to mid-sized technology team supports infrastructure across two offices, a data center, and remote staff in over six states. We are looking for a seasoned leader with a robust technical background and proven expertise in managing diverse technology operations to drive our mission forward.
Primary Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with the CIO to lead and oversee critical technology initiatives, including but not limited to:
Starting pay range: $190,000 to $200,000, based on relevant experience and qualifications.

- Strategic Technology Planning: Partner with business units and technology leaders to develop and prioritize ANA’s technology roadmap, including system selection, AI research and adoption, hardware planning, and vendor resource management. Oversee budgeting for capital and operating expenses.
- Software Development Leadership: Guide the internal software development team on prioritization, quality assurance, vendor coordination, and architectural strategy to deliver robust solutions.
- Data Analytics Partnership: Work with analytics teams to enhance data insights using Microsoft Power BI and related platforms, driving informed decision-making.
- Security and Compliance: Own policies and procedures for system security, data backup, retention, and compliance, including PCI standards.
- Technical Support Oversight: Ensure high-quality, responsive technical support and effective case management across all levels.
- Vendor and Contract Management: Manage relationships with key vendors such as AWS, Atlas, Azure, VMware, Microsoft, and external development partners, including contract negotiations and performance oversight.
- Executive Reporting: Deliver clear, concise reports on project progress and departmental performance to executive leadership.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience in relevant areas considered.
- Experience: 10–15 years of progressive experience leading mid-sized technology teams, with a focus on software development and infrastructure management.
- Leadership: Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of leading cross-functional teams and driving strategic initiatives.
- Technical Expertise:
- Proven experience in network design, maintenance, and operations.
- Strong background in vendor evaluation, RFP processes, contract management, and ongoing vendor oversight.
- Expertise in implementing and managing data-use, privacy, and PCI compliance policies.
- Familiarity with ETL processes, Data Warehousing, and Business Intelligence systems (e.g., Microsoft Power BI).
- Experience with multiple vendors’ cloud services including VPCs, servers, storage, firewalls, load-balancing, and WAF.
- Experience deploying and managing enterprise-wide Microsoft 365 implementation including Office Suite, Copilot, Planner, and other cloud applications.
- Familiarity with Retrieval-augmented Generation AI initiatives including vector databases and large-language model integrations.
- Experience managing small to large scale projects including scope documents, project plans, reporting, and an understanding of one or more project management methodologies.
- Financial Acumen: Demonstrated ability to manage technology budgets, including operating and capital expenditures.
- Preferred Skills:
- Experience with the full software development lifecycle and managing development teams.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or PHP.
- Familiarity with relational and document databases, e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
